The South Glens Falls Central School District Board of Education is currently in the process of soliciting candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools. We anticipate inviting finalists to the district in mid-April for extensive interviews with three advisory committees composed of multiple stakeholders.
Each of the three Advisory Committees will have 12 individuals in the following composition:
Administrators: Two members of administration will be selected for each advisory committee.
Faculty association: Two members of the faculty association will be selected for each advisory committee.
CSEA: Two members of the CSEA will be selected for each advisory committee.
Parents/guardians: Two parent members will be selected for each advisory committee.
Community members*: Two community members who do not currently have a child in the district will be selected for each advisory committee. Prospective community committee members must reside in the South Glens Falls Central School District. (Community members with children in the district are encouraged to participate as a parent representative.)
Students: Two students will be selected for each advisory committee.
*In the event that there are more than six (6) individuals who volunteer to serve on a particular Advisory Committee, participants will be chosen by lottery.
Those interested in participating may fill out the survey by using the official Google Form.. Please review both the charge to the Advisory Committees and the meeting schedule to be sure that you will be able to fulfill the obligation. All sign ups are due by Friday, March 27.
The charge to each Advisory Committee is to:
appoint co-chairs;
interview all finalists;
assess the strengths and weaknesses of each of the candidates and report back to the Board verbally and in writing.
The Advisory Committees are scheduled to meet on the following dates at Oliver W. Winch Middle School:
Monday, April 13, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. with WSWHE BOCES, to review interview protocol and develop interview questions.
Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 9 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. to interview finalists.
The evening of Thursday, April 16, 2026 with the Board of Education to report the committees’ findings to the Board.
Please be advised that attendance at all sessions is mandatory to ensure a consistent and fair interview for the selected candidates.
