On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, South Glens Falls Central School District residents voted to approve the district’s 2025-26 proposed budget with a vote of 589 to 236. 

The $74,647,442 spending plan carries a 2.71% budget increase over the current year’s budget. The proposed 2.85% tax levy increase is below the limit set by New York’s tax levy cap law.

“Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s budget vote. The support in this year’s budget vote reflects the strength of our community,” said Superintendent Kristine Orr. “Together, we are building a brighter future for our students, and we thank everyone who contributed by casting their vote.”

Voters additionally approved a $2 million fund to allow the South Glens Falls Central School District to purchase school buses by a vote of 585 yes to 240 no. These funds consist of surplus funds from the 2024-25 budget. 

Finally, three candidates were elected to the board of education. The candidates elected to the board are: Dr. John Leary, Heidi Brennan and Amanda Cedrone. The vote totals were as follows: 

  • Dr. John Leary: 560

  • Heidi Brennan: 544

  • Amanda Cedrone: 545

  • Brianna Lebrecht: 471
