Each year various students participate in the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) evaluation festival. This past Friday evening, there was an evaluation festival that took place at Maple Avenue Middle School in Saratoga Springs. Listed below are the results of the students who participated. These scores are out of a possible 28 points.
The students were graded by an adjudicator on a prepared solo, 3 scales and sight reading. The evaluation levels are: 26-28 Outstanding, 21-25 Excellent, 16-20 Good, 11-15 Satisfactory, 6-10 Fair and 0-5 Needs Improvement. An Outstanding Rating is given only to a performer who displays extraordinary ability and achievement.
“These students performed very well and I am very proud of how well they represented South Glens Falls,” said music teacher Mrs. Année Stanton.
Additionally, many of these students also participated in the Marathon Dance on Saturday.
Congratulations to all of these amazing musicians on their amazing performances!
