The South Glens Falls Central School District is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Sedacca has been named the principal of Tanglewood Elementary School.

Mrs. Sedacca stands in front of a cream colored wall. She is wearing a gray blazer and white blouse.

The SGF Board of Education is scheduled to vote to approve the appointments during the April 23 meeting.

Sedacca is currently the Assistant Director of Special Education, a position she has held for the past two years. In this position, she assisted in the direction and management of all special programs and services to meet student needs. I am a member of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) Committee and attended a conference with building-level leadership and teachers on Response to Intervention.

Before that, she held the position of Assistant Principal for the Extended School Year Programs with the Shenendehowa Central Schools from June to August 2021 and was Principal of the Extended School Year Programs with the Shenendehowa Central Schools from June to August 2020.

Before becoming an administrator, Sedacca worked as a School Psychologist from 2010-2017 in the Lansingburgh Central School District and then from 2017-2022 in the Shenendehowa Central Schools. She actively participated and facilitated Instructional Support Teams, participated and chaired the Committee on Special Education and Section 504 Meetings, participated on the Safety Team, was trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCIS), led the master scheduling committee, and was an Advisor for our Best Buddies Program.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as a Master of Arts and Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Psychology from The State University of New York at Plattsburgh. In addition, she also holds a School Building Leader degree from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Sedacca is ready to hit the ground running in her new position and is excited to meet our Tanglewood families. She said she is looking forward to working directly with our students and families daily while building new relationships and strengthening existing relationships within the school community.

“I am very excited and deeply honored to have the opportunity to continue on my administrative path in the South Glens Falls school community as your principal at Tanglewood Elementary School,” Sedacca said. “Together, we can do anything and we will achieve great things. Go Bulldogs!”

This is an 11-month administrative position that will start on July 1, 2024.

“We were incredibly fortunate to have a strong candidate pool of candidates for these two leadership positions. The interview committee was very impressed with Ms. Sedacca and Mr. Gibson’s strong commitment to education, leadership experience and passion for shaping young minds,” said Superintendent of Schools Kristine Orr. “We know they will both make great additions to our SGF Bulldog community.”

Sedacca resides in Saratoga Springs with her husband, Cass and our soon-to-be 8-year-old daughter, Natalie. She enjoys spending time with my family, reading and traveling.

Matthew Conrick, the current Tanglewood principal is retiring at the end of the school year.
