On Tuesday, May 19, 2026 voters in the South Glens Falls Central School District approved the 2026-27 school budget.

Proposed 2026-27 school budget: what voters need to know before heading to the polls

The South Glens Falls Central School District residents will vote Tuesday, May 19, on a proposed $76,244,314 budget for the 2026–27 school year, a 2.14% increase over the current budget.

The plan includes a 2.85% tax levy increase, which is below the district’s 2.94% limit and requires only a simple majority for approval. Homeowners with a $200,000 assessment are estimated to see an annual increase of about $67.58, though final figures will be set in August.

The proposed budget maintains all current instructional programs, extracurricular activities, and student support services, including free breakfast and lunch for all students and free supplies for grades UPK–5.

Summer Enrichment programs and the Book Bus will continue despite the conclusion of RECOVS grant funding; a small fee may be introduced for summer classes to offset costs.
