UPK Lottery for 2021-22 School Year Now Open

LEARN.The South Glens Falls Central School District is pleased to announce the opening of our lottery for the 2021-2022 Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) school year. To be eligible for the South Glens Falls UPK program:

  • Your child must be four (4) years old on or before Dec. 1, 2021.
  • You and your child must reside in the South Glens Falls School District.

All students will be selected by lottery to participate in the 2021-2022 UPK Program with a maximum of 108 enrollees. The lottery will take place on April 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Moreau Elementary School. If you have more than one eligible child (i.e. twins, etc.) you will need to complete a form for each child. If you would like to have your child included in the lottery drawing for enrollment in the program, please complete the form on the second page of this letter and send that page to:

All entries must be postmarked by March 29, 2021. A confirmation letter will follow Moreau’s receipt of your child’s lottery ticket. Please keep this letter for your records. If you do not receive a confirmation letter by April 11, 2021, it will be your responsibility to follow up with Moreau Elementary School.

The Pre-Kindergarten Program will follow the South Glens Falls Central Schools District calendar. Students participating in the UPK Program will be enrolled in the A.M. (9:00-11:15) or P.M. (12:45-3:00) session with transportation to and from school provided by the South Glens Falls Central School District. Please note that transportation cannot be provided until your child reaches the age of four. Children who are three at the start of the school year must be transported by their parents or another person designated by their parents until they turn four. Assignment of classes and teachers are done on a random basis. No requests will be taken.

If your child’s name is not drawn, you will be notified of where your child is seated on the waitlist. You will be notified if an opening becomes available during the 2021-2022 school year.

A parent meeting will tentatively be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the Moreau Cafeteria to answer any questions you may have.
