Tanglewood Supply Lists


  • 1 oversized t-shirt to be used as a smock (old adult t-shirts work well)
  • 1 standard-sized backpack – no wheels, please
  • 1 set of headphones to be used with computers and iPads (no earbuds, please)
  • 4 boxes of 24 Crayola crayons
  • 6 Elmers glue sticks
  • 1 tray of 8-color Crayola watercolors
  • 1 4-pack of Playdough
  • 3 Expo dry erase markers (any colors)
  • 1 12-pack of Ticonderoga pencils

Only art smocks and headphones need to be labeled individually. All other items can be in a labeled bag for your child. Given the recent events and health concerns, class supplies will not be shared.

If you can find any of the following items that you would like to supply for the classroom, please feel free to send them in:

  • Gallon-size box of Ziploc bags
  • Quart-size box of Ziploc bags
  • Clorox or Lysol wipes

We understand that purchasing school supplies can be a financial strain. If you are unable to purchase any of the above supplies, please know that your child will be provided with the necessary supplies.

First Grade

Please put your child’s name on all supplies. Please be aware that we will no longer be sharing supplies, so you may need to replenish your child’s supplies throughout the year (crayons, pencils, erasers and glue sticks).

  • 24 yellow no. 2 pencils (Ticonderoga works best)
  • 1 packages of pencil top erasers
  • 1 package of block erasers
  • 2 box of 24 crayons
  • 3 Elmer’s glue sticks
  • 1 standard-sized hard plastic pencil box (Approximate size 8.5 x 5.8 x 2.5 inches) ~ Please put crayons, scissors, one dry erase marker and two sharpened pencils in the crayon box before the first day of school. Thank you so much! 🙂
  • 3 hard plastic twin pocket folders (1 red, 1 blue, 1 yellow)
  • 1 pair of scissors (FISKARS work best)
  • 8 fine tip Expo dry erase markers (primary colors- no neon please)
  • 1 K-2 primary composition notebook (found at Staples – there is a blank picture box at the top of each page)
  • Headphones (no earbuds) in a Ziploc bag
  • Old t-shirt for art class with name on inside tag or collar

Second Grade

  • 2 boxes of 24 crayons
  • 1 set of colored pencils
  • 1 box of markers
  • 2 dozen Ticonderoga pre-sharpened pencils
  • erasers
  • 8 black dry-erase skinny fine tip markers
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 1 pair of children’s scissors
  • 1 3-pack of Post-It Notes pads (size 3×3) – please note that Scotch/3M brand is not a requirement
  • 1 composition notebook
  • 2 twin-pocket folders
  • 1 pencil box or case
  • 1 pair of over-the-ear headphones (No ear buds. Please place these headphones in a Ziploc plastic bag labeled with your child’s name)
  • 1 art smock

Third Grade

  • 2 glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Sharpened pencils and erasers
  • A medium pencil box to hold crayons, colored pencils and/or markers
  • A canvas zipper pencil case for pencils, highlighters, and erasers
  • Crayons, colored pencils and/or markers
  • 2 highlighters
  • 4 twin-pocket folders (red, blue, yellow, green)
  • headphones
  • a smock for art

Barton: 2 dry erase markers

Getty: 2 dry erase markers

Tokarz: 4 notebooks (red, blue, yellow, green)

Fourth Grade

  • Crayons or colored pencils (in a gallon-sized, labeled Ziploc freezer bag)
  • 2 dozen Ticonderoga sharpened pencils (in a gallon-sized, labeled Ziploc freezer bag)
  • 1 marble composition (wide-ruled) notebook
  • pencil pouch (boxes do not fit in our desks)
  • 1 glue stick
  • 2 highlighters (different colors)
  • Scissors
  • 2 single-subject spiral notebooks (wide ruled)
  • Comfortable headphones (in a gallon-sized, labeled Ziploc freezer bag)
  • Art smock (in a gallon-sized, labeled Ziploc freezer bag)
  • 1 (4-pack) of fine point dry erase markers
  • 1 sturdy pocket folder
  • 1 pack of post-its (3×3)

Please do not purchase a binder for school. We have found that they are more difficult to manage and do not fit in our desks.

Fifth Grade

  • 1 marbled “composition notebook” (any color as long as the cover is hard cardboard)
  • 1 3-subject spiral notebook or three 1-subject notebooks (wide ruled)
  • Cap erasers & larger eraser
  • Pencils, highlighter, dry erase markers (black)
  • Pencil pouch
  • Crayons or colored pencils (whichever you like best)
  • 4 “heavy-duty” or plastic pocket folders
  • 3″ x 3″ Post-it notes
  • earbuds and art smock each in a labeled Ziploc bag


  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • A box of tissues
  • hand-held pencil sharpener

Mrs. Ryan’s Class

Please send in the following items labeled with your child’s name

  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Canvas or nylon pencil bag with a zipper closure
  • Colored pencils or crayons
  • 2 Highlighters – any color
  • A smock for art class
  • Headphones
  • 2 boxes of 24, yellow, Ticonderoga #2 pencils
  • Avery – durable 1 1/2 to 2-inch three-ring binder with CLEAR PLASTIC front pocket cover
  • 2 folders (horizontal pockets)

Periodically, these supplies may need to be replenished.
