September 9, 2020

The South Glens Falls CSD welcomed two new administrators to its team this summer.

Brianne HazeltonBrianne Hazelton assumed the position of assistant director of special education in July, and Kevin Fottrell began serving as the district’s assistant superintendent for business at the end of August.

Hazelton joins the South Glens Falls CSD from the Whitehall Central School District where she was the coordinator of special education. Prior to that she worked as the CPSE/CSE/504 chairperson in the Hadley-Luzerne Central School District. Hazelton is filling a vacancy left by Jessica Spellburg who assumed the position of director of special education this past spring.

“It is obvious that in the few short and ‘socially-distanced’ months that I have been here, how much the children mean to this community,” Hazelton said. “I am excited to be a part of this team and an advocate for all of our students.”

Kevin FottrellFottrell most recently served as the business administrator in the New Lebanon Central School District. Prior to that position, he served as a business teacher in the South Colonie Central School District and the Bethlehem Central School District. In addition, Fottrell is an adjunct professor at Siena College. He replaced Business Manager Audrey Varney who retired in August.

“In my short time here I realize everyone is working so hard to benefit our students,” Fottrell said. “In these unprecedented times it is terrific to be with dedicated professionals, and I’m looking forward to working with everyone.”

“The beginning of the school year is always exciting, and we’re looking forward to the excellent work we know these individuals who do on behalf of the students in our community,” said Superintendent of Schools Kristine Orr.
