SGF High School Graduation Update

June 17, 2021

SGF Bulldogs LogoPlease see the following letter from South Glens Falls High School Principal Pete Mody regarding changes to the upcoming high school graduation ceremony scheduled for June 24.

Dear Senior Parents,

I am pleased to announce that the COVID-19-related restrictions for our graduation ceremony have been lifted following information released by NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo yesterday. Please be aware that we worked closely with both the Cool Insuring Arena and the Warren County Department of Health to confirm this information. In essence, the ceremony will look very similar to the traditional event.

The following are the changes for the graduation ceremony:

  • Testing/proof of vaccination is no longer required.
  • Masks are no longer required for vaccinated individuals.
  • Guest registration is no longer required and guests do not need to be limited or tracked.
  • There is no longer a four-person guest limit per graduate. Graduates can bring as many guests as they would like to attend.

Please keep in mind that masks are still required for those who have not been vaccinated.

Given these changes, the student testing and drive-thru verification event scheduled for June 23 is canceled.

Guests are welcome to sit anywhere between Section Q to Section JJ and can choose any seat when they arrive.

We will still livestream the event for anyone who either cannot travel or is not comfortable attending the event.

If you have guests who need special seating due to physical limitations, please have them let the Cool Insuring Arena ushers know when they arrive and they will be brought to the designated seating area. I will be in touch with further logistic information next week. Please note that mandatory graduation rehearsal for all students is still scheduled for 11 a.m. on June 24.
