South Glens Falls High School Senior Ryan Hay was recently recognized by the Adirondack Area School Boards Association with its Community Service Award.

Hay was recognized at a dinner on May 7 with students from around the region who were also given the award.

“We’re very proud of Ryan’s accomplishments and believe he was an excellent choice for this award,” Superintendent of Schools Michael Patton said. “Ryan has been active in several areas in the high school and he’s a great role model for other students.”

Ryan, a lifelong South Glens Falls resident, is an athlete and a musician. He has played basketball, baseball and track. He was also the goalie for the high school soccer team, which won a sectional title this fall, and a chairperson for the South High Marathon Dance, which raised more than $600,000 for local individuals and organizations. He plays the violin for the high school orchestra and the select chamber ensemble.

Ryan is the son of Geoff and Nancy Hay. He plans to attend St. Michael’s College in the fall.
