May 14, 2014

The South Glens Falls Central School District staff was saddened to hear of the unfortunate accident that occurred on Monday, May 12, which critically injured two of our district’s kindergarten students. A third student suffered minor scrapes and bruises.

The accident occurred after school hours on Monday at the students’ place of residence when a bounce house they were playing in was lifted off the ground and into the air.

District staff members have been working to support the families of the injured boys, as well as the students and staff at Harrison Avenue Elementary School, where the children are students.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured students and their families. We wish them the best,” said Superintendent of Schools Michael Patton. “Our goal is to provide help and assistance to all members of the South Glens Falls community that have been affected by this very unfortunate incident.”

“We are all devastated by the injuries suffered by two of our littlest Bulldogs. Our faculty, staff, parents and school community are all thinking of the boys and their families,” said Harrison Avenue Elementary School Principal Joseph Palmer. “The Harrison Avenue Family will continue to work together, along with the SGF community, and support the children and the families in any way needed. The road to recovery may be a long one, but it will be one they will not travel alone.”
