Reopening Plan

The South Glens Falls Central School District embraces the best of both worlds—all the advantages of a large school district with a small community feel. The district, which is located in northern Saratoga County in upstate New York, has made efforts in recent years to focus on three priority areas. These three guiding themes are safety, mental health and future-ready learning.

In addition to the overall program priorities, South Glens Falls has a commitment to equity. The district commits to making equity the heart of all school decisions by developing instruction and programming that ensures that all students have the opportunity to engage in learning. This equitable access will take into account the district’s subgroups, which include early learners, English language learners, students without access to technology/high-speed internet, and special education, medically fragile, homeless or economically disadvantaged students, and will be applicable to instruction as well as all aspects of the district’s operations in our reopening plan.

The South Glens Falls CSD has designated Superintendent of Schools Kristine Orr as the COVID-19 safety coordinator (administrator) whose responsibilities include continuous compliance with all aspects of the school’s reopening plan, as well as any phased-in reopening activities necessary to allow for operational issues to be resolved before activities return to normal or “new normal” levels.
