Oct. 1: COVID-19 Notification

October 1, 2020

Dear SGF Community,

The district learned on Oct. 1, 2020, that a member of the Harrison Ave. Elementary School community and a member of the Moreau Elementary School community tested positive for COVID-19. Neither individual has been in the school building since Sept. 24.

Since learning of the positive cases, the district has begun working closely with Saratoga County Public Health Services to identify contacts at the school.

All students and staff members are required to complete a daily health screening online through Pinpoint Health.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Since the start of the school year, the district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC. More information can be found in the cleaning and disinfecting section of the reopening plan.

Consider adding the phone number 518-885-2276 to your mobile phone contacts. This is the number for Saratoga County Public Health Services and you may receive a call from them for contact tracing purposes. It may come up as spam on some phones.

Please remember that our community should continue to work together to ensure overall public health. Following guidelines regarding masks, social gatherings and social distancing are important to both inside and outside of school buildings. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping everyone safe.

Any additional questions, including information about testing procedures, can be directed to Saratoga County Public Health Services at 518-584-7460.
