Nov. 12: COVID-19 Notification

Dear SGF Community,

The district learned today, Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, that a member of the South Glens Falls High School community has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual has not been in the building since Nov. 4.

Since learning of the positive case, the district has worked closely with Saratoga County Public Health Services. At this time no contact tracing will take place at the school given the time since the individual was last in the building.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Since the start of the school year, the district has been thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus, in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC. More information can be found in the cleaning and disinfecting section of the reopening plan.

In general, community members may want to consider adding the phone number 518-885-2276 to your mobile phone contacts. This is the number for Saratoga County Public Health Services and you may receive a call from them for contact tracing purposes. It may come up as spam on some phones.

Please remember that our community should continue to work together to ensure overall public health. Following guidelines regarding masks, social gatherings and social distancing are important to both inside and outside of school buildings.
