Moreau Elementary School named 2015-16 Reward School

Student works in art class at MoreauCongratulations to Moreau Elementary School, which was named a Reward School for the 2015-16 school year by the New York State Education Department.

Reward Schools were named in celebration of NYS schools that have made the most progress on state assessments, or have the highest performance with no significant gaps in student achievement. In total, 354 schools were named statewide.

“The teachers and staff at Moreau have been working diligently to implement learning strategies that we believe will be effective in improving student learning outcomes,” said Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Kristine Orr. “I’m excited that Moreau was honored by the state for the hard work both our educators and students have put in!”

Moreau was recognized with a certificate from the State Education Department.

“I am incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment to high academic standards that the Moreau faculty and staff continue to show our students,” said Principal of Moreau Elementary School Matt Conrick. “We are honored to be recognized by New York State as we continue working toward our goal of reaching every student who enters our building and moving them forward in academic excellence.”
