Jan. 8: COVID-19 Information

January 8, 2021

Dear SGF Community,

The district has learned that three individuals associated with our district have tested positive for COVID-19.

  • A member of the Moreau Elementary School community who was last in the building on Jan. 5.
  • Two members of the South Glens Falls High School community who were last in the building on Jan. 7.

The district has worked with Saratoga County Public Health Services on contact tracing. All individuals who are required to quarantine have been contacted.

There are times when the district preemptively sends students and/or staff home so that contact contact tracing can take place effectively. In an abundance of caution, we do this so we can ensure that we do not keep people in school that should be quarantined. This is part of every contact tracing scenario. Once the district finishes its work with Saratoga County Public Health Services, district leaders will then speak to parents and staff to officially let people know whether or not they are in quarantine. After this takes place, announcements go out to the community.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive or who has been put in quarantine.

Changes to Daily Screening and Attendance Policies

Beginning Monday, Jan. 11, our daily Pinpoint screener will be updated and families will be asked to keep all children home (regardless of whether they are showing symptoms) if any other member of the household is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or awaiting a test result.

If your child has been placed into quarantine or tests positive for COVID-19, please call the district at 518-824-2219 or email SGFCovid@sgfcsd.org. Someone will reach out to you.
