Jan. 29: COVID-19 Information

January 29, 2021

Dear SGF Community,

The district has learned that three individuals associated with our district tested positive for COVID-19.

  • One member of the South Glens Falls HS community. (No contact tracing was required.)
  • Two members of the Moreau Elementary School community who were last in the building on Jan. 25.

The district worked with Saratoga County Public Health Services on contact tracing for the individuals that have been in the buildings. All individuals who are required to quarantine have been notified.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

We would encourage our community to work together to practice the safety measures known to stop the spread of COVID-19, including social distancing, wearing a mask, washing your hands and avoiding group gatherings with people outside of your household.

As a reminder, families are asked to keep all children home (regardless of whether they are showing symptoms) if any other member of the household is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or awaiting a test result. No children should be coming to school if someone in the house is awaiting results. Please continue to complete the Pinpoint screening app daily to ensure you or your family should be coming to school.

If your child has been placed into quarantine or tests positive for COVID-19, please call the district at 518-824-2219 or email at Someone will reach out to you.

COVID-19 Information will be sent via email weekly

South Glens Falls has made the decision to scale down the number of emails it sends to families regarding COVID-19 information and move to a weekly digest that will be sent on Friday. This decision was made based on your feedback.

Moving forward, the district will update the COVID-19 Information Page on its website whenever there is a positive case. Any family that has a student that is required to quarantine will still be contacted by phone.
