Jan. 19: COVID-19 Information

January 19, 2021

Dear SGF Community,

The district has learned that four individuals associated with our district tested positive for COVID-19 over the long weekend.

  • Two members of the South Glens Falls HS community. (No contact tracing required.)
  • A member of the Oliver W. Winch Middle School community who was last in the building on Jan. 12.
  • A member of the Ballard Elementary School community who was last in the building on Jan. 15

The district worked with Saratoga County Public Health Services on contact tracing for the individuals that were in the building. All those who are required to quarantine have been contacted by the district and/or Saratoga County Public Health Services.

At this time, South Glens Falls High School remains remote through Jan. 25. In-person classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 26. All other buildings are open at this time.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

We would encourage our community to work together to practice the safety measures known to stop the spread of COVID-19, including social distancing, wearing a mask, washing your hands and avoiding group gatherings with people outside of your household.

As a reminder, our daily Pinpoint screener was updated last week, and families are asked to keep all children home (regardless of whether they are showing symptoms) if any other member of the household is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or awaiting a test result. Please continue to complete the Pinpoint screening app daily to ensure your family should be coming to school.

If your child has been placed into quarantine or tests positive for COVID-19, please call the district at 518-824-2219 or email at Someone will reach out to you.

Community Town Hall

The district will be holding a Winter Town Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 p.m., to share information about the second half of the year, and to answer questions families may have about testing, contact tracing or COVID-19.

Ask a question in advance.

Watch the livestream on the SGFCSD YouTube Page.
