Inclement weather protocols for our district this year

December 16, 2020

As winter settles in, we’re writing to share inclement weather protocols for the 2020-21 school year.

  • If a snow day is called, students will not be required to log on to Google meets or do any schoolwork for the day. ALL school activities are cancelled.
  • PLEASE NOTE – MS/HS will lose the letter day if there is a snow day. For example, if the snow day is called on a “A” day, the next day will be a “B” day. This will maintain schedules.
  • If a two-hour delay is called, we will delay school (in person and remotely) for two hours from the planned start time. Students will receive information from their buildings about two-hour delay schedules.
  • If there is a two-hour delay there is no AM BOCES and no AM UPK.

Information about school closings and delays will be shared with the media, posted on the district website, sent via email, shared via a push notification through the district app and texted to those who have opted-in for text messages.

Opting-In to District Text Messages

In order to receive text message notifications, you must opt-in from each device you want the messages delivered to.

How do recipients “Opt-In” receive text messages?
1. If you haven’t opted in already, text “Y” to 675-87 from the wireless device you wish to receive texts on.
2. This phone number must be associated with the information the school has on file for your child.

Note: Depending on the data update, it may take 24 hours or more for numbers to be updated from the district’s student information database.

Notifications will also be sent to your email and posted on the district website.
