Hybrid Sixth-grade Students to Return to OWWMS to In-Person Learning

March 16, 2021

Beginning the week of March 29, we are excited to be able to transition all hybrid sixth-grade students into full-time learning a minimum of four days per week. Students who are currently learning in the virtual school model are not affected by this change.

Through some small scheduling modifications, the district is able to bring sixth-graders back into the building on a more regular basis. Students will still be on the same team but may have an additional teacher.

Based on the recent mid-year parent survey, 84% of the middle school parents/guardians who responded indicated that they would like their child to be back in school full-time as soon as possible.

A Town Hall will be held for OWWMS families with hybrid sixth-grade students on Tuesday, March 23, at 6:30 p.m. A link to join the meeting will be emailed to all hybrid sixth-grade students’ families.

If you have any questions and would like to submit them prior to the town hall meeting, please use the link below.

The upcoming schedule changes will be posted on the district website in the next few weeks.

The middle school’s counseling office has been working with teachers and students to help facilitate a smooth transition, and will continue to do so throughout the spring.

Please reach out to Oliver W. Winch Middle School Principal Ray Ruby if you have any questions at or 518-792-5891.
