Elementary/middle school start and end times will be adjusted for fall

July 17, 2020

The start and end times for Oliver W. Winch Middle School and the district’s four elementary schools will be adjusted for the 2020-21 school year, a change that will enable elementary students to receive additional Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) classes during the school day. (See the table below for new start and dismissal times.)

District leaders have been looking to add to the curriculum at the elementary level for a few years, and this change will make it possible. The budget that taxpayers approved in May included the reallocation of four elementary teacher positions to create new STEM opportunities at all four of the district’s elementary schools.
