October 9, 2020

Maureen O'SullivanWith great sorrow, the South Glens Falls Central School District community is mourning the loss of longtime athletics department secretary Maureen “Moe” O’Sullivan, who passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Moe was known for her warmth, sense of humor, joyful laughter and big personality. She had worked in South Glens Falls since 2008 and was a driving force behind the smooth operations of the athletics department.

“Her personality was infectious with her rumbling laughter,” said Director of Athletics, Health & Physical Education Matt Griep. “I will be forever grateful to her for her warm welcome into this office and her years of institutional knowledge that helped guide and support me during my first year in the district.”

“I am thankful that I got to know her,” said Superintendent of Schools Kristine Orr. “She loved her SGF family and we will always remember her many contributions to our athletic and physical education programming… and to our community.”

Counselors are available for any staff or student who needs support. As always, families are encouraged to contact the counseling office at 518-792-9987 if they want to arrange for their child to talk to a counselor.

“It was impossible to know her and not like her tremendously,” said SGFHS Principal Pete Mody.

She is survived by her husband Daniel O’Sullivan and children Meagan and Thomas.

Arrangements are as follows:

Oct. 13, 4-6 p.m.
Alexander Funeral Home
