Dr. Ronald Armstrong

Dr. Ronald Armstrong taught Earth Science for the South Glens Falls School District for 30 years. As the Science Department Chairmen, he supervised the development of several teaching innovations. He served as vice-president, president, and chief negotiator of the South Glens Falls teachers Association; an co-chair of the Citizens Advisory Council. He was an Associate of the NYS Education Department.

Dr. Armstrong also taught at SUNY Albany, SUNY Plattsburgh, and Ohio State University. He had a passion for teaching Earth Science. Dr. Armstrong took students on multi-day field trips and to the Soviet Union. He received the Outstanding Earth Science Teacher Award from the National Association of Geology Teachers, and was inducted into the Phi Delta Kappa Honor society. As chairman of the Moreau Narcotics Guidance Council, he led a team of 7 Moreau residents to Yale University, where the concept of the Moreau Community Center evolved. Dr. Armstrong loves his family, students, school, community, and geology.
