Ballard Supply Lists


  • 1 large book bag
  • 1 durable pencil box
  • 2 boxes of Crayola crayons (24 pack)
  • 1 box of 10-count Crayola markers
  • 1 pair of child’s scissors (Fiskar brand work best)
  • 8-10 glue sticks
  • 12 sharpened #2 Ticonderoga brand pencils
  • 2 pink rectangular erasers
  • 1 set of headphones (no earbuds please) in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on the bag
  • 1 old, large t-shirt (no buttons or ties) with your child’s name on inside back neck area to be used as an art smock
  • 1 full extra set of clothing in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with your child’s name on the bag

Please be sure to label all of your child’s school  supplies!

First Grade

  • 2 24-packs of crayons (please no neon colors)
  • 1 box of 12 colored pencils (sharpened)
  • 4-5 black fine tip dry erase markers (low odor, water base if possible)
  • 2 Highlighters
  • 5-6 Pink Chunky Erasers (please no eraser tops)
  • 1 Package of Sticky Notes (for Reader’s/Writer’s Workshop)
  • 1 Set of Headphones (inexpensive-Dollar Store works fine)
  • 1 Black & White Composition Notebook
  • 24-28 #2 YELLOW sharpened pencils (Ticonderoga preferred)
  • 1 backpack/book Bag (to lug it all in!)

Second Grade

Please bring the following supplies to school labeled with your first and last name.

General Supplies

  • Three or four dozen Ticonderoga pencils (sharpen ahead of time if possible)
  • 1 box of 24 crayons
  • An 8-pack of thin multi-colored markers
  • One pack of colored pencils
  • Headphones (labeled and in a large Ziploc baggie)
  • 4-8 glue sticks
  • scissors
  • 2 two-pocket 9×12 folders (pockets on bottom) 1 blue, 1 yellow

Teacher-Specific Supplies


  • 1 composition book (black and white)
  • 1 pack basic Bic style pens
  • 1 pack each of 3” x 3” and 3” x 5” sticky notes (light colors please)
  • 1 pack low-odor dry erase markers (black only)
  • Canvas zip bag large enough to hold crayons, colored pencils, scissors, etc.


  • 1 composition book (black and white)

Bayle, Foster and Parish

  • Plastic storage baggies based on last name
    • A-G: box of quart-size storage baggies (not sandwich)
    • H-N: box of snack-size rectangular baggies (not square)
    • O-S: box of gallon-size storage baggies
    • T-Z: extra large 2-gallon baggies (Dollar Tree or Walmart)

Third Grade

Please send in the following items labeled with your child’s name.

  • Scissors (reuse from second grade)
  • Headphones or earbuds in a Ziploc bag with name (these can be purchased at Five Below or The Dollar Tree)
  • Hard material pencil box (that can hold all the following materials – including ruler)
  • 1 box of 24-count crayons
  • 12 colored pencils
  • 1 composition notebook, wide-ruled
  • 4 folders with horizontal pockets, one of each color: green, yellow, blue and red
  • Handheld pencil sharpener that catches shavings
  • Two rectangular pink erasers
  • Two highlighters (any color)
  • Clean sock (to use as an eraser for whiteboard)
  • 1 boxes of 24, yellow Ticonderoga #2 pencils to be shared by the class
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 2 fine tip dry erase marker
  • 1 pad of 3 x 3 Post-It notes
  • Inches and centimeters ruler

Please note that the pencil boxes may travel back and forth from school should we need to pivot to home learning.

We eat a mid-morning snack so please bring in a healthy snack each day.

Fourth Grade

ALL supplies will be organized the first day of school. Please DO NOT try to organize at home. (Send in original packaging.)

  • 3 dozen (36 total) #2 pencils No mechanical pencils. ***Ticonderoga brand works best.
  • 1 box of 12 colored pencils
  • 1 box of 12 washable markers
  • Scissors labeled with student’s name
  • 1 pack of 5 of low odor Expo dry erase markers and 1 eraser (labeled with student’s name)
  • 2 large glue sticks (labeled with student’s name)
  • 2 packages of Pink Pearl block erasers
  • Large pencil box for supplies labeled with first and last name (no pencil bags please)
  • Three hard-cover black and white composition-style books (sewn binding) labeled with student’s name
  • A 1-inch RED, 3-ring binder (labeled with student’s name)
  • 5 three-hole punched folders in different colors: red, blue, green, yellow and one of your choice! Plastic ones work the best.
  • 3” x 3” Post-it notes (4 packs)
  • A pair of headphones (NOT earbuds) to be kept in school (Dollar Store or 5 Below ones work great)
  • Personal pencil sharpener that fits in their pencil box

Fifth Grade

This year we ask that all individual school supplies are labeled with your child’s name using a Sharpie or masking tape before being sent into school. (This includes all writing utensils please.)

School Supplies for School Only

  • 1 fabric pencil case containing the following items
  • 6 sharpened pencils
  • 1 package of highlighters
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 handheld pencil sharpener with shavings catcher
  • 6 cap erasers
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 single stack of 3” x 3” post-its

Supplies that will Travel Between School and Home

  • 1 binder (1 inch) of choice (social studies/science)
  • 3 folders (vinyl) of choice (ELA/math/lined paper storage)
  • 1 composition notebook of choice (reading/writing)
  • 1 water bottle any color (no glass or disposable water bottles please)

Supplies will not be going back and forth from home to school this year, so it is best if students have some necessary supplies in both places. As students run out of supplies at school, we will have them replenish them from their home supply.
