On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, South Glens Falls Central School District residents voted to approve the district's 2023-24 proposed budget with 919 voting yes and 291 voting no.

The $69,871,797 spending plan carries a 7.60 percent spending decrease over the current year’s budget. 

The proposed 2.80 percent tax levy increase is below the limit set by New York’s tax levy cap law. 

“We appreciate the support of our South Glens Falls community on the budget vote we put forth this year,” said Superintendent of Schools Kristine Orr. “We are thankful for the support our community showed us today. Community support is an integral part of the South Glens Falls Central School District, so we are so thankful to all those who came out to vote today.”

Voters additionally approved the district expending $2 million from the unrestricted fund balance fund to make necessary repairs around the district by a vote of 951 yes to 274 no.

Finally, three candidates were elected to the board of education. The candidates elected to the board are:  Haley Brashears, Nicholas Healy and William Elder.

The board vote numbers were as follows: 

  • Haley Brashears: 768
  • Nicholas Healy: 757
  • William Elder:  752
  • Edward Potter: 635
  • Christopher Music: 396
