An important update on meal service

As many of you have probably experienced, significant supply chain issues are seen nationwide, especially in the foodservice industry. We are not immune from these issues.
Our single food distributor is experiencing product shortages due to unavailable items from the manufacturers. Most of our local food distributors are also experiencing driver shortages and drastically cut their delivery routes.
We want to let you know that we have shortages of many products due to these facts and are unaware of them until the truck arrives. There are going to be frequent menu changes. Please know that students will not always receive the items published on the menus. Out of stock items will be substituted with a similar item. For example, we may have chicken patties on a menu but have to switch in chicken fingers or chicken nuggets.
These substitutions will not have any impact on any allergy or special diets. Even with changes, we still work diligently to ensure that all allergy and food restriction needs are met.
Please rest assured, meals will always be nutritionally balanced and filling. The food service team at South Glens Falls Central School District takes pride in serving the students at all six buildings.
Unfortunately, these circumstances are a part of these challenging times, and I apologize for the inconvenience. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
