Summer programming and office locations and hours

SGFCSD Building Our Future LogoHarrison Avenue and Moreau elementary schools, along with Oliver W. Winch Middle School and South Glens Falls High School, will be closed to the public this summer as part of the district’s ongoing capital project work.

Sitework will begin at Harrison Avenue and Moreau elementary schools and will include changes to parking, traffic patterns and new playground equipment. Asbestos abatement will take place in crawlspaces at Oliver W. Winch Middle School and South Glens Falls High School. Buildings will close the week of June 26 and are anticipated to reopen on Aug. 14, 2017.

Student programming, which includes Moreau Summer Recreation programs and the district’s summer programs (ESY, HS Summer Credit Recovery and Summer Success) will be held at Tanglewood Elementary School this year. Ballard and Tanglewood elementary schools will operate during summer hours. Buildings will be open from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Most Booster Club’s sports camps will be on the High School athletic fields. Drop off will be done in the back parking lot.

Exceptions include:

  • Volleyball, which will be held at Ballard Elementary School,
  • Girls basketball, which will be held at Ballard Elementary School,
  • Boys basketball, which will be held at Moreau Recreation Department’s outdoor courts, and
  • Baseball, which will be held at Moreau Recreation Department.

Twelve-month staff who are regularly located in the buildings that will be closed will be relocated to Ballard and Tanglewood elementary schools. Phone numbers for relocated staff will remain the same.

  • Harrison office staff and the athletics department will be located at Tanglewood Elementary School.
  • Moreau office staff, Oliver W. Winch Middle School main office and counseling office staff, and high school main office and counseling office staff will be located at Ballard Elementary School.
