Carla BivianoSouth Glens Falls High School Principal Carla Biviano will become the new principal at Harrison Avenue Elementary School, effective July 1, 2017.

Biviano, who has been the high school principal for more than a decade, will replace outgoing Harrison principal Joseph Palmer who is leaving the district to assume a central office position in the Schenectady City School District.

In addition to being a certified school district administrator, Biviano is also certified as a school counselor and spent the first 10 years of her career advocating for children and working very closely with families.

“I am excited for this new challenge in my professional career, and I am looking forward to working with students at the start of their school years,” she said. “I am confident that my strong counseling background will benefit our school community, especially at a time when building community partnerships and strengthening student support services is necessary to meet our student’s needs.”

“Ms. Biviano has shown great leadership at our high school and I am confident that her passion for working with children will translate very well to the elementary level,” said Superintendnet of Schools Michael Patton, Ed.D. “Carla is excited to begin working with the students, parents and staff to continue building Bulldog Pride at Harrison!”

The district is working on creating a recruitment and hiring timeline for the high school principal position and will announce additional information in the coming weeks.
