2024-25 Board of Education Candidates

Voters will elect candidates to fill three open seats on the Board of Education. Each is a three-year term.

Candidates will appear on the ballot in the same order as they appear on the page below. Candidate ballot positions were determined by a blind drawing that was held on April 23, 2024.

Roger Fedele

Roger Fedele is running for his fifth term on the school board.

He retired from public education in June 2023 after a 30 1/2-year career, including teaching Regents chemistry and human anatomy & physiology at Queensbury High School. His background also includes experience as a middle school teacher and principal.

Fedele holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/biology and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from SUNY Plattsburgh, as well as a school administration and supervision certification from The College of St. Rose.

Fedele is married to Shannon Fagle-Fedele, and they have two children who attend South Glens Falls High School and Tanglewood Elementary School, respectively.

John Farrell

John B. Farrell is running for his fifth term on the school board. He is a graduate of Glens Falls High School, and he holds an associate degree from Adirondack Community College. Farrell has a bachelor’s degree in history from SUNY Potsdam and a master's degree in education from SUNY Plattsburgh.

He is currently the director of facilities at Ascend Mental Wellness. 

During his children’s time in the district, Farrell was active in the Home School Association. He has also volunteered for events surrounding the South High Marathon Dance. He also coached youth soccer, boys basketball and softball for the town of Moreau and served as vice president and president of the girls Softball Board.

Kevin Ostrander

Kevin Ostrander is running for his sixth term on the school board. Ostrander is a 1970 graduate of South Glens Falls High School and received a bachelor's degree in business from SUNY Albany. He is currently retired.

Ostrander and his wife, Nancy, have three children who are all graduates of South Glens Falls High School.

Timothy Dalaba

Timothy K. Dalaba is running for a term on the South Glens Falls Central School District Board of Education. He previously served seven years as a board member for the district, of which two years as vice president.

Dalaba is the president and CFO of STS Consultants. He is a graduate of North Warren High School and earned a bachelor's degree in professional accounting from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Dalaba has recently served as a volunteer coach, and continues to volunteer for the South High Marathon Dance. He is currently a member of the New York state select committees. He has previously held various leadership roles in organizations such as a member of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce sports committee, Revolution Soccer Club (founder/president/coach), Olympic Development Program (assistant head soccer coach), South Glens Falls Soccer Club (founder/president/coach), Moreau Rec Park Committee, and Southside Cemetery (president). He continues to volunteer his time to nonprofit organizations.

He continues serving as a member on various select committees for the state of New York and serves on various companies' boards.

He is married to Mary, and their two children have graduated from South Glens Falls schools.
