Name: Jon Larson

Position in the district and building where you work: School Psychologist. I currently work full time at the middle school.

How long have you worked in the district? 30 Years

What is your favorite aspect of your job?
Working closely with students to support their educational and emotional challenges is certainly one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Over thirty years, I have had the opportunity to work at Ballard, Moreau, the middle school, and the senior high school. Each age has its own magic, and I am grateful to have had the chance to work with students from every grade level. One fond early memory involves the Ballard kindergarten teachers pulling me into their classrooms on several occasions to join in on the “Tooty Ta” dance with their classes. I am blessed with many such fond memories. I feel very fortunate to work with such a dedicated, compassionate group of counselors, special education staff, teachers, support staff, and administrators. Likewise, it is a privilege to work together with caring, committed parents to help their children succeed. Finally, while most days are a blur, they are never boring!

What do you like to do outside of school?
I enjoy traveling with my girlfriend, watching bad sci-fi/horror movies, tinkering with my computer, growing roses, and most of all, playing with my three grandkids (they keep me young while reminding me that “grandpa” isn’t in his 20s anymore).
