Senior Brandon Sarti nominated for Best Leading Actor in regional high school musical awards

Ghost the Musical photosSouth Glens Falls senior Brandon Sarti is one of five Capital Region thespians nominated for Best Leading Actor in the 2018 High School Musical Theatre Awards (HSMTA). Brandon’s nomination comes for his portrayal of Sam Wheat in Ghost the Musical. The HSMTAs, sponsored by Proctors, are nationally affiliated with the Broadway League and the annual Jimmy Awards. This year, the HSMTA adjudicated 23 Capital Region high school productions from six different counties. More than¬†40 students were eligible for consideration in this specific award category.

Brandon has been an active member of the South Glens Falls High School theatre arts program since the 2012 production of The Wizard of Oz and will be furthering his studies as he pursues a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre major at the State University of New York at Fredonia. He is a long time company member of Lake George Youtheatre and is active in the South High music department.

The High School Musical Theatre Awards ceremony will be held at Proctors on May 19, 2018, at 7 p.m. Brandon will be performing a song from Ghost at the awards ceremony. Seniors Anthony Migliori and Kate Nelson will also be performing in the opening and closing numbers. Tickets are available at proctors.org.
